To me, this is just another lesson to avoid shopping at WalMart, even when not using the self-checkout. Security once falsely accused my wife of stealing empty milk crates of all things. Other times, store employees practically hip-checked me to yank bags out of my hand to see if I was hiding stuff in them. Same when we bought a pair of boots: I scanned them and before I could put them down, an employee yanked them from me to see if I was hiding something in them. boingboing.net/2024/09/25/walm

@BenAtkinsonPhD Seems more an argument to avoid self checkout anywhere, not just at Walmart

@JonChevreau Maybe, but I personally have never had a problem with self-checkout anywhere else. I actually prefer self-checkout because I can ensure I am charged the prices I expect, and get the points I expect, without having to watch the cashier's screen closely, or checking my bill after paying.
